WHAT DO AMBASSADORS DO?
Take the Jump Ambassador’s are central to driving organic growth, and are a group of trained and skilled volunteers who have completed our training, who meet regularly to share ideas, test things and support each other, and are working to:
Help diffuse the spiralling division in society - Engaging with people and communities across the sectors of society to build bridges and centre on how there’s so much more that connects us than divides us
Set up local groups - Setting up local groups or talking to those that already exist locally
Speak to media - Responding to local media requests from news papers, radio stations etc.
Engage with people in daily life - speaking to friends and family
Engage the local community - through events, talks etc
Engage institutions and organisations - like local authorities, schools, lunch time talk at your work, local youth group etc
Building the story - Creating narratives and content to give life to the new world we’re living
Social media narrative shifting - Sharing this new narrative and your own stories online
Supporting the movement itself - Volunteering with Take the Jump to manage the Hub, developing content for website, blogs and emails, or hosting our online drop in sessions and events.
WHAT IS AMBASSADOR TRAINING?

Our six week ambassador training offers an innovative and above all joyous communication approach that is based on a tried and tested method, drawing on leading behavioural, social and climate science. The course is run by experienced experts and communicators, and includes original learning materials and plenty of chances to practice communicating.
(NOTE: This training is part of a collective of trainings or invitations around behaviour, mindset and culture change. We invite you to engage in them all to get a comprehensive support)
The six sessions cover:
THE POWER OF WHAT UNITES US - Parts of our society today exploit the small divisions between us, while there is so much more that we hold in common. We explore the truth of this, and begin some personal and collective practices that can transform our capacity to reach out to and connect with others.
CONNECTEDNESS AS A ROUTE TO CLIMATE CONVERSATIONS - Exploring together how connecting with others' needs and hopes, is a route to unpicking motivations for, and alternatives to, behaviours. We will use the Six Shifts as talking points.
A COMMUNICATION MINDSET - Two themes that will unlock your persuasive power:
MEETING OTHERS WHERE THEY ARE - A deep and heart opening session exploring the huge and varied barriers to making a change; generating empathy for others, the foundation of any effective communication.
CHANGE THROUGH JOY - How the joy of our own experience is the magic ingredient for activating ourselves and others.
COMMUNICATION TOOLKIT - Principles and steps for communicating, plus practice sessions, speeches, workshops, resources, practice and FAQ's
SECTOR FOCUSED COMMUNICATION - Engaging schools, local authorities, organisations, communities, and working with press and social media.
BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR - The next steps. Exploring your inspiration to engage people and communities, how to safeguard and nature yourself and others as you go, and how this movement can help you do it.
Anyone is welcome, whether you're very familiar with Take the Jump or not.
If you can't make all the sessions that's ok, we'll be recording them so you can watch them if you miss them. The recording and all course resources will be shared directly after each session.
If you can’t make this round of the training, there will be others later in the year, and the course will be run at other times to suit other time zones.
